Disc Repair — Polish for Scratched Games and DVDs
A game that freezes halfway through or doesn't start at all is often not broken — just scratched. We resurface the read side on a professional Eco Pro 2 by Total Disc Repair and then test the disc on the actual console.
If it doesn't work, you pay nothing
We run up to five polishing passes. If the disc still doesn't work afterwards, we refund the service price in full. You only pay return shipping if you want the disc back.
How it works
- Choose the number of discs and order. You select return shipping at checkout — for valuable titles we recommend the insured DHL parcel.
- You'll get our address by email. Pack the discs well; you can keep the original cases.
- As soon as the discs reach us we send you a short email and ask for the go-ahead. With your yes we start the same day.
- We polish, clean and test on the matching console.
- You hear from us whether it worked — and get the disc back.
What we can repair
Scratches, scuff marks and cloudiness on the read side — the silver underside. That is by far the most common cause of read errors, and polishing helps reliably.
What we cannot repair
- Damage on the label side — the data layer sits directly under the print there. Once it is injured the data is gone, and polishing won't help.
- Cracks, broken or warped discs
- Delamination, visible as milky patches in the material
- Discs that have already been resurfaced several times
Honestly
Polishing removes material. That cannot be undone, and in rare cases — with an already very thin or pre-damaged disc — it can become unusable. For discs with high collector value, please talk to us first so we can look together at whether the risk is worth it.
All the details, prices and limits are on our disc repair page.

Good to know
Condition and testing
Every cartridge goes through a test run, the contacts are cleaned, every disc is checked for scratches. Anything that does not boot does not leave here as a working game.
We do not grade the item as a whole but each part on its own: case, insert and disc are listed separately above. Grades run from A+ to D — when in doubt we grade down rather than up.
Shipping and delivery time
We ship with DHL from Bremen, Germany. Which shipping method is possible depends on the item: a single game fits in a large letter, several titles go as a small parcel, consoles and collectible figures always as an insured parcel.
Within Germany the DHL parcel is free from 49 €. Delivery inside Germany takes 3 to 5 business days, international deliveries longer.
Returns and withdrawal
You can withdraw within one month without giving a reason — two weeks more than the law requires. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.
If the item is damaged or does not match the description, that is not a withdrawal but a defect — then the return is on us.
CIB, OVP and other abbreviations
OVP — original packaging: the case or box is included.
CIB — complete in box: game, packaging and manual are all there. If something is missing, it says so in the description.
PAL — European release, runs on European consoles.
NTSC-U/C and NTSC-J — North American and Japanese releases, which depending on the system need a matching console.
Factory Sealed — original seal intact, never opened.
Frequently asked questions
What do CIB and OVP mean?
OVP means the original packaging is included. CIB stands for complete in box: game, packaging and manual are all present. If any of that is missing, it is stated in the item description — we list every piece separately.
PAL or NTSC — will it run on my console?
PAL releases run on European consoles. NTSC-U/C comes from North America, NTSC-J from Japan; depending on the system both need a matching or modified console. The region is always in the title. If you are unsure, just ask — we will tell you whether it will run for you.
Do the save batteries still work?
On cartridges with a save battery — many SNES and Game Boy titles, for instance — the battery is often at the end of its life after thirty years. If we notice it during testing, it is stated in the description. Replacing it is possible on most cartridges and no big deal.
Why is almost everything available only once?
We sell used collector's items, not new stock. Every article is a one-off with its own condition and its own photos. Once it is gone, it is gone — until another one comes in.
What if the disc does not run for me?
Get in touch and we will sort it out. Before shipping, every disc has passed a boot test here. If something does not match the description it is a defect — then the return is on us. And if it is down to scratches: we also polish discs as a separate service.
